Salivate! Spice Blends and me
I’ve just left the Salivate! kitchen after a day of roasting, grinding and blending spices. The aromas are incredible while I’m working and for me, they evoke travel, friends and family, celebrations and divinely delicious food spread across long tables. The clinking of glasses, laughter and the joy of being together to share stories and beautiful food.
Yes, I’m a romantic at heart & think anyone who loves food, celebrating and sharing with loved ones, must be as well. Lucky us.
The first 6 blends came to be from experiences and adventures I’ve had. The vindaloo curry is an homage to my wonderful father, the chimichurri a memory of incredible meal in an Argentinean restaurant in Spain.
You really can’t cook lamb marinated in Middle Eastern spices without serving it with harissa. Portuguese chicken is heaven and, well tandoori is an Indian taste without the heat of a curry.
All of these blends make me happy, not only in the creating of them but also in the smell, the memories and the getting into the kitchen to use them.
Yep, I basically made these for myself and then realised you might just have to have them too…
